Bat-broideries abound!
Well hello there - it’s been a minute! Since we last checked in I’ve moved my studio area, bought a 3D printer, cut down to one day a week at the day job, hacked my own hair off, and acquired a serious love of ‘66 Batman. All while still making things like crazy!
Embroidery has been a big focus recently, as is likely obvious to anyone that has seen the Instagram @theknitchshop. Dipping my toes into some fanart has really helped me practice likenesses, something I’ve always wanted to improve. It also takes a bit of the stress out of coming up with my own designs when all I want to do is focus on technique. My eclectic tastes permitting, I hope to continue to post a bit of fanart to keep improving. I’ve also devised a way to improve something else I’ve always been a bit frustrated with…
I’m gonna do it. I’m going to make my own comics. We’re making this realistic at first, naturally, but the eventual goal is to produce a four panel comic every week - but first we’ll start with a page a month. I’ll never stop struggling with my drawing unless I consistently practice, so let’s do this thing. I have a space opera just tickling at my brain for this sort of format. The first page will drop October 1st! As we get closer, I’ll introduce you to a few featured friends.
To those keeping tabs…I so appreciate the love, support, and interest you’ve shown! Thank you, thank you, and I’ll see you soon with more!
