Graphic…comic…novelette?
Remember that comic I mentioned last time?
Well, when I made that declaration of intent, I had nothing but a vague idea. That vague idea is now a 4,000 word worldbuilding document detailing plot, characters, locations, and lore - primed and ready for use as a reference as I get started on the actual comic script.
I had no idea I could arc out a complete story, create interesting characters to populate it, rough out the universe itself, and leave things with an ending I find satisfying while still open enough to continue…in about a week? Yeah. The self-congratulation is rampant around here. When I haven’t been editing, that is.
As I continue to hammer out the details, solidify character appearances and just generally play with my shiny new toys, I’m also doing production for Fresh Paint next month! There will be buttons, paintings, dolls, illustrations, embroideries and any other odds and ends I can squeeze in before then. Fresh Paint is an art festival in downtown Everett, being held this year on the corner of Hoyt and Hewitt on Saturday and Sunday August 20th/21st - and my booth will be right outside the Schack Art Center! If you decide to pay me a visit you’ll get first pick of the goodies, but anything unsold will be listed in the shop Saturday September 17th, and on Etsy the following week.
Truly, nothing has nourished my soul more than being able to spend so much of my time on my creations this year. I can’t wait to continue.
